Madonna Workshop

It is the mission of Madonna Workshop to provide life skills and vocational training opportunities that enable special needs individuals to be equipped for placement in the competitive employment market. Madonna Workshop will provide opportunities to learn work skills so that each client will become as independent as possible.

The Madonna Workshop provides vocational training and job placement for adults with cognitive disabilities.

Sister Evangeline opened Madonna Workshop in 1983 in response to a growing need in the community for vocational training for adults with cognitive and developmental disabilities. It serves as a sheltered workshop environment for these individuals. Currently, there are 35 clients at the workshop, who complete piece work contracted from local companies. This work entails light assembly packaging, collating, shrink wrapping, bulk mail preparation and other labor intensive, highly repetitive tasks. The Madonna Workshop provides clients with a sense of accomplishment and self-worth. Shop Manager, Robin Moses, and her dedicated staff teach them the valuable social and vocational skills they need to obtain competitive employment. However, it is not all work and no play at the workshop. Staff members regularly accompany clients on outings in the community and on out of town trips.

Madonna Workshop has partnerships with the following Omaha-area businesses:

- Con Agra
- Max I. Walker
- Oriental Trading Company

- Creative Sales
- American Linen
- Midwest Woodworker

Clients complete their tasks in a sheltered workshop enviroment.
